Next meeting 21st February 2026 - Shawford Village Hall 10am-4pm

The second meeting of this year welcomes this month’s speaker our very own Deborah Wheeler giving her talk about William Morris (1834–1896).

He was not merely a designer of patterns but a deeply hands-on artisan who, in the 1870s, became obsessed with mastering the traditional, natural methods of dyeing fabrics. Deborah will be bringing fabric samples and books for us to peruse. The talk will start at at 11.00.

The sales table

There will be a sales table on Saturday. The same rules apply, please see Nadine or committee member before leaving any fibre related items you wish to put up for sale. WINTER WEAVING and ACTIVITY DAYS

Weaving and activity day

Saturday 28th February will be last of our winter weaving days for this season.  We will cover some of the basics about planning a project, choosing the yarn and the right reed, working out how much yarn you'll need.  Also we'll be covering some troubleshooting and finishing.

If anybody wants to have a go at weaving with pick-up sticks Coral will bring notes and plenty of spare pick-up sticks.  Or you can just bring what they are working on, share with others and get some hints and tips.

Also, if anyone has one of Coral's band looms from the December passementerie workshop, please could you bring it back so we can get them set up again for skill share day in March.
