Our meeting in March has our annual 'Skill share day' where our lovely members share their skills with other members.
YES! It’s here. Louise has done a lot of work to put this skill share programme together. Thank you Louise from us all.
Skill share
I have listed below the sessions running at the next Guild meeting. There will be opportunity to join sessions even if you haven’t signed up yet, to wander about and see what others are doing, or make yourself comfortable and enjoy your own craft in good company.
Morning Skills Sessions starting approx 10.30am
Blending Board with Sue Bates (9 signed up)
Sue will bring a board and materials but feel free to bring anything you already have.
Double Knitting with Jacqui Batting (2 signed up)
Jacqui will bring yarn but you may bring your own DK yarn. Please bring your own needles.
Locker Hooking with Ann Lovick ( 5 signed up)
Ann will provide materials but you can bring your own hook if you have one.
Dorset Buttons with Alison Baxter (6 people signed up)
I believe Alison is providing materials, but if you have thread, rings and needles of your own, please bring them.
Art Yarn with Edit Rose (5 signed up)
Please bring any yarn or fibre you would like to play with.
Nalbinding with Carey Fleiner (10 signed up so the session is full unless someone can’t make it)
Carey will let you borrow needles for the day but yarn will be provided.
Afternoon Skills Sessions starting approx 1.30pm
Peg Loom with Sue Logan at 10.30am and Sue Bates at 1.30pm (7 signed up)
Looms and Materials will be provided.
Weaving Tools, Tips and Tricks with Della Storr (5 signed up)
Della will have examples but if you have an item you have queries about, please bring it to share
Basic Crochet with Veronica Biddlecombe (3 signed up)
Veronica will provide yarn and hooks.
Tablet Weaving with Coral Newton (4 signed up)
Coral will have everything set up!
Inkle Loom with Tricia Silver-Warner (9 signed up)
I believe Tricia is bringing a demonstration loom but if you have your own please bring it along with any threads you have.
Saori Freestyle Weaving with Louise Carroll (8 signed up)
Louise will bring a Saori Piccolo loom to demonstrate and let you have-a-go. Yarn will be provided but please feel free to bring any you want to include in your sample.
ALL THE OTHER STUFF…….
The sales table
There will be a sales table on Saturday. The same rules apply, please see Nadine or committee member before leaving any fibre related items you wish to put up for sale. Guild will deduct 10% of all sales for Guild funds. Any items not sold must be collected & taken home with you, as we have no room for storage.
Any fibre ralated donations will be gratefully received.
Show and tell
Please bring your latest projects to share.
Library will be open
For browsing, loans & returns…. thank you Maya/ Bev.
Equipment hire
If anyone wants to hire equipment please email Guild Secretary in advance. So we can be sure equipment required is on site.
House keeping
Free coffee & tea will be available during the day.
