The Aims of the Hampshire WSD

We Aim To...

 

  • Encourage and maintain integrity and excellence of craftmanship and skills.

  • To foster a sense of beauty of materials, texture colour and design; providing inspiration.

  • To improve opportunities for knowledge and mastering skills.

  • Meet the needs of all members regardless of ability.                                                           

Our Guild Profile

We are a group of people interested in promoting the skills of.....

Spinning

yarns from a range of fibres, including wool, linen, cotton, silk and many others which can be knitted, crocheted, woven or used for other crafts.

Weaving

and creating interesting individual fabrics which can include textiles suitable for clothing, soft furnishings, floor coverings or decorative hangings.

Dyeing

fibres, yarns and fabrics with natural or chemical dyes to achieve our own unique colours.

Membership

Membership to the Guild is open to anyone interested in fibre crafts.

 

Current Membership subscription is £20 for the period April 2023 to the end of March 2024 and £2.00 at each month's meeting.

How to pay your Membership Subscription (to Join or Renew) -  You can pay your subscription using internet banking.

Visitors are always welcome - The cost is £5 for the meeting day on the door.

 

Tea and coffee are provided and sometimes there is afternoon cake.  Please bring a packed lunch.

As a member, if you wish, you can work to gain

 A wide selection of fibre craft books can be borrowed by members at our monthly meetings.

Guild Equipment

We have a range of fibrecraft equipment that is available to members to hire
