Weaving Wednesdays
Textile craft workshops for Children

The Guild does not hold a meeting in August. Instead volunteers from the Guild put on four, weekly workshops for Children (of all ages!) on a Wednesday afternoon, 1.30 pm to 4pm, at the Hillier Gardens, near Romsey. There is a small charge, payable at the Garden entrance desk.

The crafts are all weaving and textile craft related. For the first two weeks the main craft is felting, for the second two weeks it is back strap weaving. For the four weeks as well as the main craft there is a wide range of other crafts to have a go at. They include; peg loom weaving, stick weaving, God's eye weaving, finger knitting, having a go at spinning and plant fibre weaving and making friendship braids using the Kumihimo technique of braiding.

The sessions are relaxed and easy going with plenty of volunteers to help children have a go and make an item.

The dates are advertised on the Hillier 'Whats on' events website pages and in their brochure. We also put the dates here on our website in the programme and diary.
